A Do-Over for Humanity

Why is it important that Jesus was sinless?  I think most of the time, we think of it in terms of his sacrifice on the cross, that he needed to be an unblemished sacrifice.  Although that idea is important, I think we really miss an important point when that is our focus.  Jesus' life was a "do-over" for each of us who believes in him; where we were disobedient at every stage of life, Jesus was obedient; where we have been thoroughly sinful at every stage, he has been thoroughly pleasing to the Father.  Jesus was born "under the law to redeem those under the law" (Galatians 4:4-5), and when we unite with Jesus Christ in faith, his history replaces our history, allowing God to redeem that which was previously worthless to be worthy heirs of His kingdom.  Listen to the podcast below for more.
