Kobuk, Alaska
Kobuk is a small Eskimo village in Northwest Alaska.  Home to about 150 residents, the village is only accessible by boat or plane.
Kobuk, Alaska
Ice jams on the Kobuk River cause frequent flooding in the village.  They are a proud people with a rich heritage but are isolated with limited resources, which can take its toll on the people.  Each year, the Stephens RoadRunner 5k provides the majority of the funds for our trip to Kobuk.  The local missionaries have asked us to return, and proceeds from this year's Roadrunner 5K will help FBC Stephens support the missionary family by adding space to their two-bedroom cabin, where their family of eight lives and does most of their ministry to village children and teens.

Stephens, Arkansas
Nestled halfway between Camden and Magnolia on highway 79, Stephens is a close-knit community of about a thousand people.
Stephens, Arkansas
Stephens was where oil was first discovered in South Arkansas and once boasted a thriving economy based on local oil fields and paper products.  The town has faced challenges from economic changes and population decline, but local businesses and city leaders have a vision for a positive future for Stephens.  With new parks and city beautification and a historic downtown strip of local merchants, Stephens is ready for visitors and ready to grow.  The RoadRunner 5K race is part of a joint effort between many different local leaders and organizations that we hope will help bring about a Renaissance to this historic town.
