Is worship simply doing things for God or is it something else? In a story from the last week of Jesus' life before his crucifixion, a woman spent the equivalent of tens of thousands of dollars for a few moments' worship. Everyone said it was a waste (why not give to the poor?!), but Jesus called it beautiful. It seems to be a role reversal: people defending the poor and Jesus commending extravagance. Why?
